This easy oven-baked French fries with cheese and bacon bits are the perfect snack for anytime of the day. Yes, even at 11 pm. I want tell anyone. I promise.
These are definitely a shout to Jack in the Box bacon cheddar and potatoes wedges. Thanks to my cousin, II, these have become my favorite for a very long time. We use to make late-night stops to Jack in the Box and grab some burgers and cheddar and potatoes wedges. Such good times and I miss her so much now that we live in different states. Hopefully, in the near future, we can reunite again and make some of these delicious french fries together.
Ingredients Easy Oven-Baked French Fries
- 4-5 medium size potatoes
- Olive oil
- paprika
- salt and pepper
- shredded cheese
- bacon bits
Peel, wash, and cut potatoes.
Allow potatoes to soak in water for about 15 minutes. This allows excess starch from the potatoes to wash off, you will have crisper fries.
Drain the potatoes and rinse well. Then place potatoes wedges on a cookie sheet lined with a paper towel and pat dry.
Now in a bowl add potatoes wedges, olive oil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Give everything a good toss until the potatoes are covered in olive oil and seasoning.
Place potatoes individually on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Don’t overcrowd the cookie sheet. Allowing space between the fries will result in roasting the potatoes, not steaming them.
If you have a small cookie sheet cook your French fries in two batches. But remember to leave the uncooked potatoes in water so they don’t turn brown.
Now cook fries at 425 degrees F. for about 30-40 minutes depending on how thick our fries are. Halfway between cooking time flip the fries over to allow even browning on each side.
Once the fries are golden and crispy add the shredded cheese and bacon on top and cook for another 2 minutes or until bacon bites are crispy and cheese has melted.
Now take out of the oven and serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce.
